A Wide Neck Shirt

Hi guys. It hasn’t been that long, but I feel like I haven’t made a post in forever! I took these pictures when it was still somewhat warm outside. The weather I think Wisconsin just doesn’t understand that winter is over yet. One day it’s super warm and the next day it’s freezing. It even snowed a few days ago! I’m just happy I could get some pictures without a coat. I hope you guys like the outfit. My favorite part of it was definitely the wide neck top.

I’ve realized recently that I almost never wear skirts. That’s really sad to me because I used to wear skirts all the time. When I was in boarding school, I wore skirts once or twice a week to go with dress code. That was my freshman year. Skirts were banned my sophomore year, so I couldn’t wear them during school. After that, I went back to public school and only occasionally wore skirts. Now that I’m in college, I don’t really wear skirts at all. I don’t think I’ve worn a skirt once this whole year! When I was home for a weekend, I decided it was time to break out one of my old skirts.

This is my favorite skirt. I don’t actually have that many skirts, so I guess it’s not too impressive that this is my favorite. I still love it, though! My friend, Elizabeth, gave it to me. I think it’s really flattering because of the band in the middle. The band is folded in half so it’s extra tight and really sucks you in. It makes me feel like I’m back in time wearing a corset!

I decided to wear a pair of tights underneath my skirt. I like these tights because they’re not your typical black tights. I got these when floral tights were in style. I’m sure people still wear them now, but I don’t really see them around much anymore. I like these because they still had a cool design, but they were different from the other tights I saw. They kind of remind me of fishnet tights, but they’re not as scandalous.

For my shoes, I wore my low-top Converse. If you can’t tell, I’ve been wearing Converse a lot lately. These shoes probably wouldn’t be my first choice for a more girly outfit like this, but I don’t have the biggest shoe collection (yet haha). These are just what I had to work with. I like that they make the outfit a little less girly.

This outfit was supposed to be mostly focused on the skirt, but I ended up really liking the shirt I wore with it. I got it a month or two ago, but I haven’t really worn it that much yet. I think that might change, though! At least until it finally gest warm. I like the neckline because it’s kind of off the shoulder, but not completely. I don’t have to ever pull the shoulders up or down because the shirt stays exactly like it looks in the picture.

For my makeup, I just filled in my eyebrows and wore some liquid eyeliner. I didn’t wear anything on my lips and I finished it all off with some mascara.

What have you been wearing?

  1. I lovee this outfit! I especially love the skirt, and tights. I don’t usually wear skirts, but I’d definitely wear one like that.
Oh and I get almost all my shoes at famous footwear-it’s an awesome store. 🙂

  2. I love that outfit , Leani. Those colors and style are exactly what I normally wear… when I do wear clothes. I have been spending a lot of time at home, so I wear robes. Also, your choice in make-up is epic. I normally don’t wear make-up unless I am doing something SUPER important.

  3. LEANI– I’m going to stick my foot in my mouth–potentially. A couple things to improve how others view your fashion posts…may I suggest? Your front-views and smiles are fantastic…but several women I’ve known have been just as interested on how THE BACK of an outfit looks…and the sides. Don’t worry about us guys…focus, if you’d like, on your target audience, which may include the guys!
