Roaming around in South Africa

Hey again! Can you tell I’ve been trying to blog more? I want to make more than my usual one blogpost a month. This is my third blogpot in August and I have to say I’m pretty proud of myself. I’m trying to work myself up to one post a week,  but that’s going to be difficult with school starting soon. 😭😭

Anyway, I have another South Africa related post for you. I made another short vlog of the time I spent in South Africa. It’s mostly about visiting the monument pictured below and hanging out on my family’s farm. Click here to watch!

Voortrekker Monument

On our way to the farm, we stopped along the way to see this monument. It’s the Voortrekker Monument in Winburg. It was free to visit and no one else was around, so it was a really nice little stop.

We also stopped for a quick lunch at the Wimpy. I couldn’t decide between the Greek salad and the cheese and tomato sandwich, so I got both! I did not regret it.

Here are just a few pictures of the farm. They have a lot of open fields for different animals to roam. Above is a picture of the sheep on the farm. We got on the back of the truck and went for a ride all around the farm. It was really beautiful.

After driving around the farm, we hung out for a bit and then headed out for a walk/hike. We climbed up a hill and took some really cool photos when we got up there.

On our way back after climbing the hill, my brother took the picture below. I think it turned out nicely. I’ve been forcing him to be my photographer haha.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post and the video. I think it’s better than my last one. I don’t make a lot of videos, so I’m working on improving that. Have a great day!

    1. We definitely enjoyed ourselves! The animals were really cool and I love being on the farm. It’s not very green haha, but it was winter when we visited. Maybe spring and summer will bring more green. Thanks for watching/reading, it means a lot!

  1. Wow~ A family farm in the South Africa sounds wonderful! I always remember the opening line of Out of Africa’s Karen (played by Meryl Streep) says: “I had a farm in Africa.” Sounds so romantic!!
Fabulous pictures by your brother by the way!
